The GCS recognises people as the fundamental driving force of the business. All stakeholders play a key role in the development of its activities, and the Group not only considers them to be essential players in its value chain, but also works actively to generate value for each of them. Responsible stakeholder relationship management is a pillar of its sustainability strategy, ensuring that each of its actions contributes to a more equitable, secure and sustainable development.
People are at the core of the GCS's sustainability strategy. Whether they are employees, workers in the value chain, customers or local communities, they are all part of the ecosystem that drives the Group's business. The creation of value for these stakeholders not only guarantees the success of the business, but also reinforces the positive impact of GCS on society, contributing to the well-being of people and the sustainable development of the communities in which it operates.
Own workforce
The GCS’s business success comes from the commitment and talent of its teams. For this reason, the company is committed to the professional development of its employees while at the same time ensuring the best working, health and safety conditions. In this way, the commitment to its workers is one of the main axes of the GCS's Sustainability Master Plan.
- Working conditions: GCS works to ensure that all its employees have fair and decent working conditions. The Group is committed to providing fair compensation and a working environment that values the efforts and talents of its professionals.
- Health and safety: Worker safety is a priority in the GCS. Thus, the Group promotes a culture of prevention through measures and tools that ensure the safety of employees, as well as training programmes designed to reinforce their awareness and preparation in terms of occupational risks.
- Respect for Human Rights: GCS rejects any practice that violates human rights or fosters discrimination based on gender, ethnicity, culture or any other condition. To avoid this, it promotes a culture of respect, inclusion and equal opportunities throughout its structure.
- Training and professional development: The GCS understands that attracting and retaining talent, as well as the professional development of its employees is key to its own success. That is why the GCS is committed to training its employees. In 2024, the GCS University initiative was launched, which promotes continuous training with specialised courses that boost internal talent and strengthen employee motivation.

Workers in the value chain
Although they are not directly part of GCS, the workers in the value chain are key to the development of its activities.
Respect for the human rights of these workers is a strategic priority for the GCS. In this regard, the GCS implements measures aimed at ensuring that the working conditions and ethical principles applied are in line with those of the GCS, with a special focus on the health and safety of these workers, especially those subcontractors who work directly on projects carried out by the GCS. The GCS's strategy in relation to this matter is reflected in the Group's internal policies, the principles and commitments of which are extended, to the extent applicable, throughout the value chain.
In addition, the Group has implemented a system for the selection, evaluation and approval of suppliers, which includes specific criteria on working conditions and the protection of human rights. These criteria have been formalised in the Sustainable Procurement Policy approved by the GCS's Board of Directors for 2024.

Affected communities
Given GCS's business model, there is constant interaction with the local communities in the places where it operates. The execution of large-scale projects can temporarily affect their environment and lifestyle, so GCS focuses on generating value through active collaboration and the development of initiatives that boost the economic and social growth of these communities.
The Group encourages the purchase of local goods and services, contributing to the development of the local economy. It also promotes the hiring of local talent, providing job opportunities that improve the quality of life of people in the areas where it develops its projects. This is complemented by constant dialogue with communities, ensuring that their needs and expectations are heard and addressed to mitigate any negative impacts of operations.
